Hi, i’m Frankie Fellows.

I was born and raised in San Diego and currently live in Carlsbad, CA. I have always had a passion for art and nature. My graphic design degree led me to creating paper goods for events, and flowers quickly followed. They stole my heart 5 years ago and I have been floralizing special events ever since. I work with a small team of girlfriends who love all things party, and we can’t wait to flower your special day.

“If you don’t know her, you’re missing out. If you do know her, you’re a lucky soul.

Her name’s Frankie.

She’s one of those people you can’t not like. She makes you laugh, she’s weird as hell, and her energy is infectious.

It was right before her sister’s wedding. She and her sister Alex were going back and forth about hiring a florist for the big day. Conversation surrounded a little bit of yes, and a little bit of no. Just as the topic was nearly exhausted beyond repair, she volunteered – I mean – volunTOLD her friends and family that they would take care of the flowers themselves. No more discussion needed. With help from both the bridal party and her mom, her soon-to-be business had flourished. Literally.

Quite Frankly Creative was born, and Frankie hasn’t turned back since. As I said before, she’s a real gem, so it’s no surprise that her business spread by word of mouth quicker than I could kill a bouquet of flowers. Which is pretty dang quick.

When asked one word that describes QFC, Frankie gasped, “I can’t just choose one.” The next two words to leave her mouth truly grasped the backbone of her business. She smiled slightly as she said, “Authentic. Creative.”

And she meant it.

I spent a long while discussing the ins and outs of QFC with Frankie, and the only lie I heard her say was, “You can’t make flowers look bad. It’s just always fun.”

False.

Making flowers look bad has haunted me since a corsage made its way on my wrist in high school. Stay humble, Frankie.

Her modesty continued as she explained the one thing she wishes everyone knew about QFC: “It’s early mornings [4am early], dirty buckets, and messy hands.” No flower goes untouched. She’s really, really in it. She shrugged off the dirty work and beamed, “It’s a lot of work, but the outcome is so amazing that it’s always worth it.”

The pressure that goes into making a wedding special is often underrated. “It can be scary. You’re making something for someone’s best day. It’s the biggest day of their lives thus far, and Quite Frankly Creative plays a part in that. It’s my favorite part of my job.”

It’s not just weddings, though. It’s baby showers, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, and so much more. But Frankie can’t do it all alone. Her friends and family always step in and help when needed. She admits to having used wine and cheese as last-minute payment to close friends.

She made sure to clarify it was white wine.

If that isn’t the best thing you’ve heard all day, I’m not sure what is. As I said before – pure gem.

This playful yet professional liveliness shines through to her work. Take a look and you’ll see. It’s truly remarkable. My hope is that your next event thinks of Frankie, her dedication, and the authentic, creative energy that QFC brings next to design.

Here’s to you, Quite Frankly Creative.”
